Senior Solutions Consultant

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering and Professional Services, the Solutions Consultant’s primary responsibilities are to assist customers in deploying Visual i|o products, delivered on-time and on-budget.

The Solutions Consultant shall demonstrate leadership by facilitating needs-assessment and best practices sessions, writing well-defined statements of work and specification documents, and driving projects to successful deployment, by leveraging Visual i|o’s resources appropriately.

The successful candidate shall have strong consulting experience, hands-on technology experience, client-management skills, relationship-building skills, solid project management experience, negotiating skills, and must be able to successfully drive multiple projects in parallel.

The Solutions Consultant will also participate in business development activities and contributes to the product direction by working closely with Visual i|o’s product management function.

This position requires extensive short-term travel of up to 50% and will be based at Visual i|o’s corporate headquarters in Newton, MA.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 8 years of customer-facing experience delivering software technology: project management, consulting, technical sales support, training and/or client management
  • At least 3 years of project management and functional leadership experience with a minimum of 2 years experience implementing and/or leading implementations of enterprise business applications software
  • At least 3 years of application experience using XML, J2EE-based application server technology, relational database and web applications architecture
  • At least 3 years experience in the areas of business process automation, workflow management and change management
  • Demonstrable experience working within and defining the framework of a proven implementation methodology
  • Strong customer-centric attitude and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and technical and business writing skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering; MBA or MS in Computer Science desirable

Desirable Skills

  • Previous start-up experience
  • Experience in BI/BA application software implementations and/or data visualization
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry
  • Familiarity with DW/DM and data integration issues
